And, even though I like to sew I can honestly say I don't hoard fabric either. I have one tall shelf beside my sewing machine and that is all the fabric I allow myself (although it does hold quite a bit).
I haven't bought fabric in a long time (well aside from the awesome french terry in my last post).
I've gone a little crazy as of late. Hopefully the hubby won't notice or I'll have some explainin' to do.
I've gotten all of this within the last week...
Some knits.
Some cord (Euro cord for $5 a yard?! Could I dare hope it's Hilco?), wovens and a bit of knit and twill.
Some delicious wovens. LOVE this Amy Butler on top of the stack!
And the package I've been most waiting for. If you feel like fabric splurging, Holland Fabrics has some really yummy Euro wovens. So so pretty in person, I can't wait to use these.
Of course I had to buy a couple of irresistible trims. Are these not the prettiest bias tapes? I would have bought all of them if money were no object.
All I can say is thank goodness I get the mail. :) I better get sewing...
So, what's your addiction?
I mean really, there are far worse things than fabric right? I shouldn't feel too guilty.
Hey, I just realized I missed my first blog anniversary! I thought it was a couple of weeks away, but it was yesterday.
I made it a whole year! I can barely believe it. I wasn't sure I'd last a week. Turns out I love blogging, and I love connecting with all of you.
Thank you for reading and sharing your stories with me. You have given me so much inspiration and a sense of comradery I've never felt before.
Thank you, truly.

Congrats on the one year! Where does the cords come from? They are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou have built up a nice little collection. The colors are so cheerful. Good luck telling the husband.
ReplyDeleteNice stack! Where did you purchase the AB? I have been looking for that print and everyone seems to be out of it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI agree that the cords are amazing! I think that my stash is of similar or even smaller size, and my husband thinks that I should be whittling it down before I buy any more fabric. So, that is what I'm trying to do. It is almost too bad that toddler clothes don't use up very much fabric. My little girl is going to end up with 2 or three shirts out of the same mermaid knit... Maybe I should make bigger sizes and stash them for next year?
ReplyDeleteEspecially since you make so many clothes for the girls, you should not feel guilty at all about having fabric stashed around. Good apparel fabric isn't always easy to find, so get while the "getting" is good!
Oh, such fun stuff you got! I can't wait to see what you do with all of it! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWow! What gorgeous fabric! I have been sewing since November and have only bought fabric at a fabric store once. Now, I shop the thrift store for fabric. So, sadly, I have to use what is there and I am not really sure what the fabric is made of for certain. But, this way I am practicing on cheap (I will only pay up to $2.00 for a piece) fabric so when I am better at sewing I won't waste too many yummy pieces.
ReplyDeleteI also cannot wait to see what you will create and any tutorials you will bless us with!
Happy Blogoversary! I'm an addict & hoarder of fabric. The only thing that saves me is that my husband does the same with his hiking gear. At least we use it and share it with others! =)
ReplyDeleteThose are all beautiful! Please share where you shop or order for it all. I love fabrics, but I'm trying to use up what I have. Of course, when I decide to try a different kind of project, I never had what I really want to use.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog-oversary! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteand what a lovely stash of fabric! My addiction to fabric is very new ;) So I don't have much yet! but I'm a cardmaker/stamper, so I have a ton of paper all over the place! and I just started to embroider, can we say 'floss galore'? LOL!
I look forward to seeing what you'llbe sewing with your newbies :)
hugs, margie
I'm with you on the fabric--I can't get enough!!I checked out Holland Fabrics--gorgeous! I can't wait to get some of their trims and Euro wovens. You seem to find the cutest knits and cords, though--where do you get them?
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary--you're one of my Favorites!!
Oooh, nice bright choices! Every girl needs to splurge once in a while!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the red guitar fabric - where did you find it??
ReplyDeleteFor those wondering about the fabric...
ReplyDeleteThe first two photos- I bought all of this from two other mamas selling off parts of their stash so I don't know where most of it came from. The Fabric fairy carries lots of really cool knits though- you may be able to find the guitar fabric there.
The third photo- thefabrickat.com
She is selling off her fabric! Lots of sales but I don't think much left. I think the AB might be out of stock now.
The last photos- Holland fabrics on Etsy.
Hope that helps!
Happy blog-a-versary! You are definately one of my biggest inspirations. I too hoard craft supplies, I'm trying to use up my fabric so I can go crazy and buy new!

Love the fabric you got - and the bias tape is CUTE!!
ReplyDeleteIf that really was Hilco what you got there than WOW it was an aweful good price. Here in Germany it is easily available but it is SO expensive that I think I have never bought new one ... :-/
And, yes, there are worse addictions! :-)
You should not feel too guilty! And also - you are making stuff with it. Not like me who buys fabric to ... sit there ... :-)
Congrats on one year! :) That is one awesome fabric collection! I'm looking forward to seeing what you make with it! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a fiber addict. My husband calls me a textile-ophile!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, I just ordered from Holland Fabric a few days ago! Love, love, love the trims!
Hello, My name is Mary and I am a fabric-holic. It has been 9 days since my last fabric purchase.... I will probably relapse soon.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I'm a fabric addict myself with no intention of recovering :-) I enjoy reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Christine!
ReplyDeleteYou have my most favourite blog and I check in daily since I discovered it last summer. I am always excited to see what you are up to next! :) Thank you so much for sharing your talents and stories. I feel like we are friends!
And I too, am a fabric addict. I have a 6 foot by 6 foot shelf, with 25 "cube" shelves, and I am 1/2 way to filling it up...with fabric alone! Don't tell anyone, but sometimes when I'm feeling down in the dumps, I go into my craft room, sit down, and just look at it. AHHH! Very therapeutic. Am I a weirdo? :P
Looking forward to another year of following your blog!
Indeed there are worse addictions! I hoard fabric...I buy it then can't bear to cut it! It has to be the perfect project or the scissors don't come out! I love the pink and black fabrics under the Amy Butler. Do they have a name?
ReplyDeleteI too am a fabric addict. I really do need to get better at using it up before I buy more. I also buy way too many PDF patterns.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your one year. This afternoon my girls made the heart shaped crayons that you posted a year ago. They love them and will pass them out at school! Thanks!
I am also a fabric addict. I actually went on a fabric binge today... I even bought fabric that I thought would be so cute for a little boy... even though I have a little girl! I guess I will be making something as a gift :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the link to Holland fabric... I can't wait to check it out!
Happy bloganniversary :-)
ReplyDeleteI have the same addiction... badly... for fabric... so thanks for this post because I can now show my husband some bloggers are worse than I am. I only bought half of what you did last week ;-)
I used that same cherry fabric to make a hooded towel for my youngest. I just found a second one that I never finished putting the binding on. :P
ReplyDeleteThat is AMAZING bias tape. I'm definitely looking into some of that.
Happy blog anniversary!
